Irish Association of International Doctors (IAID) is a professional medical society supporting doctors who have trained internationally and are working, training, settling, or preparing to contribute within the Irish healthcare system.
IAID provides a constructive, credible, and collaborative platform for education, mentorship, advocacy, professional development, immigration and relocation signposting, research, networking, and community support.

Who we support
IAID supports newly arriving International Medical Graduates, non-consultant hospital doctors, doctors seeking training or professional progression, doctors navigating registration and immigration processes, doctors relocating with families, and doctors seeking a stronger professional network in Ireland.

International doctors make an essential contribution to patient care, hospital services, community medicine, and the resilience of the Irish health system. IAID exists to help identify shared challenges, offer reliable signposting, encourage mentoring, support integration, and represent international doctors through respectful dialogue with healthcare stakeholders.
Our approach
IAID's approach is professional, diplomatic, evidence-informed, and non-confrontational. The society aims to work with hospitals, training bodies, regulators, policymakers, media, and community partners to improve understanding and support practical progress.
Our role in the Irish healthcare system
IAID seeks to be a positive partner in Ireland's healthcare landscape by supporting doctors, strengthening professional connection, encouraging retention, and contributing informed perspectives to discussions on training, workforce planning, immigration processes, and workplace dignity.
